2401 State Park Road
The Paris Mtn. Trails 7K is a relatively short trail race with a respectable amount of climbing, but not too much to intimidate beginning runners. The race is one of three yearly trail races hosted by the Greenville Track Club, and is also part of the Greenville Recreation District's "Dirt" race series.
"The Second in the Series of 3 GTC Trail Runs""A Good Event for Beginning Runners"
The Paris Mountain Trails 7K is the second in the series of 3 trail races hosted by the Greenville Track Club in 2017. This is the shortest race compared to the June 12K and November 16K. The race starts at the guardhouse at the park entrance and follows the main road for 1/2 mile before joining the trail system. The first half of the race is spent climbing the mountain and the last half of the race consists of a fast, winding descent to the finish at the Lake Placid pavilion. The trails on Paris Mountain are especially gnarly with many rocks and roots. Wear your knobby shoes for maximum grip!
The Paris Mtn Trail 7K is a trail run in unspoiled forest of the State Park. Here are some special qualities of the race:
- Exhilarating and challenging course
- Beautiful scenery and fresh air
- No frills, low cost event
- Souvenir 7K patch for award winners
